Princess Ardala

A classy gladiatrix with a wry sense of humor, Princess Ardala-daughter and servant of the evil (and absent) Draco unexpectedly meets her match in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Expecting to find the frightened citizens of new Chicago easy to subjugate, with her Trojan Horse ploy, she soon learns that under Buck's supervision and advice, the people of Earth are no longer such sitting ducks-that Buck can boogie with the best of them and fly by the seat of his pants. Ardala shares his readiness for action, his quickness to use common sense and his intuitive way of thinking; and she cannot suppress a sneaking admiration for him. But they differ on this: Buck fights to restore freedom; Ardala fights for power-for a grand noose she can tighten around the necks of all Earthlings.

Killer Kane

The Leader Kane is a handsome devil (in the 1939 Buck Rogers serial) with a snide and brittle voice. He demands absolute fidelity from his followers, who are legion; and for those few who hold out against him he has a simple little helmet that cancels both memory and will-power and turns a brave man into a boot-licking slave.

He feels sure he can subjugate or destroy the latest outpost of freedom on Earth-an underground city in which Dr. Huer and Wilma Deering are leaders in the struggle for survival.

Kane has badgered the confused race of Zuggs on Saturn into an alliance. Not even Buck Rogers and his sidekick Buddy Wade can stop Kane and his combined forces . . . unless Buck can persuade the Zuggs to switch their allegiance to the side of bravery and freedom. Curse you, Buck Rogers!
